Overview
VIA VAB-630 3.5″ SBC
Powered by a 1.0GHz dual core VIA Cortex-A9 SoC, the VIA VAB-630 features advanced multimedia performance, rich I/O and wireless connectivity support, and advanced software development tools for a host of gateway, signage and HMI applications. An optional 10.1” touch panel is also available to accelerate system development times.
Hardware
Based on a compact 3.5” Single Board Computer (SBC) form factor measuring just 14.6cm x 10.2cm, the VAB-630 comes with a rich array of I/O and connectivity features.
Software
The VIA VAB-630 BSP features Android 5.0 as well as the VIA Smart ETK comprising a number of APIs, including Watchdog Timer (WDT) for safeguarding against system crashes, GPIO and UART access, and a sample app.
The VAB-630 Linux BSP includes a pre-built Debian image, including the kernel and bootloader source codes. Other features include a Tool Chain to help make adjustments to the kernel and to leverage the onboard pin-headers, GPIO, I2C, and other hardware features.
A full set of software customization services that speed up time to market and minimize development costs is also available.
Expandability
The functionality of VIA VAB-630 can be further enhanced with the integration of optional wireless communication modules including a combination USB Wi-Fi module or miniPCIe 3G module. An optional 10.1” LVDS LCD capacitive touch panel is also available in order to facilitate complete system development.
Applications
Featuring rich I/O, wireless connectivity and touch panel support in a compact form factor, the VIA VAB-630 provides a flexible platform for developing space saving digital signage, kiosk and HMI systems.
