VIA AMOS-825 In-Vehicle Edge Computing System
Enhance commercial fleet safety and efficiency with the VIA AMOS-825 in-vehicle system. Powered by a 1.0GHz NXP i.MX 6Quad Cortex-A9 quad-core SoC, this fanless small form factor system has been specifically designed for demanding compute-intensive fleet management, navigation and infotainment applications.
The low-power VIA AMOS-825 has been optimized for in-vehicle operation with a host of advanced features such as wide voltage input, a wide operating temperature range, sophisticated power management, ignition-controlled quick boot, and dual CAN bus support. The system also features an Android 6.0 EVK package and is Microsoft Azure Certified for IoT.
With its robust and versatile design, the VIA AMOS-825 can be rapidly customized to meet a wide range of smart transportation requirements and has been successfully deployed by the largest taxi company in Japan for its Smart IoT Mobility System.
Hardware
Featuring a 1.0GHz NXP i.MX 6Quad ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core SoC, the VIA AMOS-825 delivers a highly-capable and power-efficient system for compute- and multimedia-intensive in-vehicle infotainment and navigation applications.
A completely fanless system with a ruggedized design, the VIA AMOS-825 measures just 15.5mm (W) x 48.1mm (H) x 103.3mm (D), and supports a wide operating temperature range from 0°C ~ 60°C, a wide voltage input from 9-36V, and ignition-controlled quick boot.
Its highly-efficient design affords an extremely low power consumption of just 7W under typical operation. In addition to 1GB DDR3 memory and 16GB eMMC Flash storage, the system has a rich array of I/O and connectivity features, dual CAN/COM, GPIO, USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and GPS. Its SCSI 50-pin D-sub connector minimizes the amount of system cabling required.
Software
The VIA AMOS-825 Android EVK package features Android 6.0 as well as the VIA Smart ETK comprising a number of APIs, including Watchdog Timer (WDT) for safeguarding against system crashes, GPIO access, COM port access, RTC for auto-power on, and a sample app. A full set of Android software customization services that speed up time to market and minimize development costs are also available. The VIA AMOS-825 is also Microsoft Azure Certified for IoT.
Customization
You can enhance the functionality of the VIA AMOS-825 system with the integration the EMIO-2550 3.75G HSPA/UMTS full-size miniPCIe Mobile Broadband Module. An optional 7″ projective capacitive touch monitor is also available in order to facilitate complete system development.
A full set of hardware and software customization services that speed up time-to-market and minimize development costs is also available.
