Powered by the 1.0GHz NXP i.MX 6DualLite Cortex-A9 SoC, this reliable and versatile Android system offers a rich array of I/O and connectivity features, including five RS-232 ports and one RS-485 port to enable the easy integration a full range of modern and legacy peripherals and equipment. Hardware
Powered by 1.0GHz NXP i.MX 6DualLite Cortex-A9 SoC, the VIA ARTiGO A830 integrates all the advanced computing, graphics and video features required for intensive multimedia shopping, entertainment, and navigation applications.
Measuring just 260.2mm (W) x 50mm (H) x 140mm (D), the system is fanless and features a ruggedized enclosure able to withstand a wide operating temperature range from -20°C up to 60°C while delivering extremely low power consumption. Reliability is further enhanced by Surge and ESD protection, making it the ideal solution for even the most demanding outdoor environments.
The VIA ARTiGO A830 comes with a rich array of I/O and connectivity features, including six USB 2.0 ports, five RS-232 COM ports, one 3-pole Phoenix RS-485 COM port, one Gigabit Ethernet port, and one SIM card slot that support a wide variety of peripherals such as touch screens, barcode scanners and readers, and security cameras. HDMI and LVDS ports enable easy display integration, and the built-in 5W audio amplifier ensures high-quality audio output. Other features include 1GB DDR3 SDRAM and 8GB eMMC Flash, and a Micro SD card slot.
Software
The VIA ARTiGO A830 Android BSP features Android 4.4.2 plus the VIA Smart ETK comprising a number of APIs, including Watchdog Timer (WDT) for safeguarding against system crashes, GPIO access, COM port access, RTC for auto-power on, and a sample app.
A full set of Android and Linux software customization services that speed up time to market and minimize development costs are also available.
