Smart Access Control Made Simple
We’ve developed a demo showcasing how an intelligent access control solution could function using the VIA AI Transforma paired with a high-resolution camera, demonstrating its potential for enforcing safety compliance in industrial environments. The system leverages face detection and recognition technology to verify personnel identity, while simultaneously ensuring that individuals are wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE), a hard hat and safety vest, before granting entry. All three conditions must be met for access approval, demonstrating how AI can improve workplace security and compliance.
This is just one of many potential applications that can be easily built on the VIA AI Transforma. The flexibility of the platform allows developers to create and deploy AI-powered solutions tailored to a wide range of industries, from smart security and automated monitoring to predictive maintenance and beyond.
Accelerating AI Deployment with the TAO Ecosystem
The VIA AI Transforma is powered by the MediaTek Genio 700 SoC, featuring integrated AI acceleration and energy-efficient performance. To streamline AI model development and deployment, we leverage the TAO (Train, Adapt, Optimize) ecosystem, which provides pre-trained models that can be quickly adapted for specific use cases.
Using TAO significantly reduces the time required to identify and implement well-trained AI models. Rather than sorting through open-source repositories and manually converting models for compatibility, developers can select from a curated library of models optimized to run on the Genio 700’s AI processing units. These models are commercially viable, eliminating concerns about licensing restrictions often associated with open-source alternatives.
Once a target model is identified, TAO also provides tools for fine-tuning it with application-specific data, refining accuracy and accelerating deployment. This makes it easier than ever to develop custom AI-driven applications on the VIA AI Transforma with minimal effort.
