Earlier this month, VIA put the VIA Mobile360 D700 AI Dash Cam through its paces at the “Temple of Speed” at Monza in Italy together with the E20 Project Motorsport team – giving a group of local journalists the opportunity to experience the thrill of a test drive in a Fiat Abarth 124 sports car equipped with the devicearound this world-famous racing circuit.
After an hour of driving instruction with an expert from the E20 Project Motorsport driving school, the journalists were able to see the device perform in considerably more demanding conditions in terms of vibration stress than on a highway.
The test drive also provided the opportunity to simultaneously record HD quality video of both inside and outside the vehicles using the dual 1080p cameras of the VIA Mobile360 D700. The availability of high-quality video footage allows competitive and enthusiast drivers to carefully study their driving performance after an event by analyzing each lap of the circuit to identify ways to gain an advantage in future races.
Project E20 Motorsport team manager Mr. Andrea Corinaldesi commented: “We are very satisfied with the work of the dash cam, especially given the quality and the firmness of the image in a very dynamic context like sport driving in a racetrack. It responded very well to the stresses of the curves and to the high speeds.”
