Overview
VIA AMOS-3005 Edge Computing System
Speed up your commercial and industrial IoT and edge intelligence installations with the VIA AMOS-3005. This compact and ruggedized fanless system is designed to meet the most demanding indoor and outdoor operational requirements and can be customized for a host of smart building management, monitoring and surveillance, remote energy management, and smart kiosk applications.
In addition to supporting a wide operating temperature range from -20°C to 60°C and a wide voltage input from 9-36V, the VIA AMOS-3005 also offers rich array of networking, connectivity, and I/O features, including dual Gigabit Ethernet, two COM ports, and Wi-Fi and 4G SIM card support.
Fully compatible with a wide range of Microsoft® Windows® operating systems, including Windows 10 IoT, as well as popular Linux distributions, the system is also is Microsoft Azure Certified for IoT – making it the ideal solution for your enterprise edge intelligence requirements.
Hardware
Harnessing the high performance and low-power consumption of a 1.2GHz VIA Eden® X4 quad-core processor and VIA VX11H MSP, which includes the VIA C-640 graphics processor with Microsoft DirectX11 support for richer textures and 2D/3D displays, the VIA AMOS-3005 cleverly incorporates a rugged design with rich network connectivity in the form of dual Gigabit Ethernet (GLAN), and optional Wi-Fi, GPS, and 4G networking.
The system integrates a wide array of I/O connectivity features, including one HDMI port, one VGA port, two USB 3.0 ports, two lockable USB 2.0 ports, two Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45) ports, two COM ports, and one 9-pin D-Sub connector for 8-bit GPIO. Inside, expansion options include one mSATA connector, one SIM slot, and one mini PCIe slot. The system also supports up to 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 memory.
Software
The VIA AMOS-3005 is fully compatible with Microsoft® Windows® 10 IoT, Windows® 10, 8.1, 8, 7 and Windows® Embedded Standard 7 operating systems, as well as popular Linux distributions. For hybrid-Cloud applications, the VIA AMOS-3005 is also Microsoft Azure Certified for IoT.
Customers can take advantage of VIA’s industry leading hardware and software support, including the VIA Smart ETK (Embedded Tool Kit), which provides an application programming interface (API) that makes it easy for system developers to control and monitor GPIO, Watchdog Timer, Hardware Management, Flash and other functions.
Wake on LAN (WOL) and pre-boot execution environment (PXE) are also supported, allowing creation of remotely-managed IoT devices for demanding or inaccessible of environments.
Customization
You can enhance the connectivity of the VIA AMOS-3005 system with the integration of a wide range of options. These include the EMIO-1533 USB Wi-Fi Module, the EMIO-5531 USB Wi-Fi Module, the EMIO-2551 3.75G HSPA/UMTS full-size miniPCIe Mobile Broadband Module, and the EMIO-2573 4G LTE mobile broadband full size miniPCIe module.
A full set of hardware and software customization services that speed up time-to-market and minimize development costs is also available.
