Overview
Reduce time-to-market for embedded systems and devices with the flexible and reliable VIA VAB-820 board. Powered by a choice of 1.0GHz NXP i.MX 6QuadPlus and 6Quad series Cortex-A9 Quad-Core SoCs, this highly integrated platform combines advanced compute and graphics performance with a wealth of I/O and connectivity features in a compact fanless Pico-ITX form factor.
The VIA VAB-820 board includes a choice of Android 6.0 and Linux BSPs for rapid system development and integration. With its flexible low-power design and extensive hardware and software development, integration, and customization options, the VIA VAB-820 provides the ideal platform for meeting the exacting demands of edge industrial automation, enterprise IoT, and in-vehicle applications. Powered by a choice of 1.0GHz NXP i.MX 6QuadPlus and 6Quad series Quad-Core SoCs, the VIA VAB-820 board packs a wealth of I/O and connectivity features into its small Pico-ITX form factor, including one COM port, one DIO port, two CAN bus ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one USB 2.0 OTG, one HDMI port, one composite RCA jack, one Gigabit Ethernet port, an expansion slot each for a MicroSD card and a miniPCIe module, and optional 3G, Wi-Fi, and PoE (Power over Ethernet) support.
The platform also supports a wide operating temperature range from -20°C ~ 70°C (3G & Wi-Fi not included) and extremely low power consumption of a maximum 7W TDP to provide a robust and reliable solution for embedded applications in even the most demanding environments.
The functionality of the VIA EPIA-M930 Mini-ITX board can be enhanced with the integration of optional USB Wi-Fi and 3G HSPA/UMTS modules.
Software
VIA VAB-820 BSP
The VIA VAB-820 board includes a choice of Linux kernel 4.1.15 and Android 6.0 BSPs supporting both the NXP i.MX 6QuadPlus and NXP i.MX 6Quad series Cortex-A9 quad-core SoCs. VIA VAB-820 Linux kernel 4.1.15 and Android 6.0 EVK packages to enable the hardware functionality can be downloaded here. A full set of software customization services that speed up time to market and minimize development costs is also available.
